Een van de leukste dingen die we (nou ja, ik wel maar Patty niet) hebben gedaan is Flight of the gibbon.

Wat is dat? nou het komt er op neer dat je rond de 50 meter hoog tussen grote bomen zweeft met aan kabelbanen en zo een mooi uitzicht hebt over de jungle.

Inderdaad hoog!

Flight of the Gibbon was voor mij echt een van de mooiste dagen in Thailand. De natuur daar is geweldig en als je er dan op zo'n gave manier doorheen kan vliegen is het echt super!

Gisteren terug gekomen uit Thailand en nu genieten van mijn laatste dag vakantie.

De reis de we gemaakt hebben met Djoser door Thailand was in 1 woord geweldig! Veel gezien, veel gedaan en veel genoten. We hadden een leuke kleine groep van 10 personen waar het leeftijdsverschil lag van 22 tot 30. de groep was erg hecht en iedereen ging bijna overal mee naartoe.

Een paar highlights van de 23 daagse trip:

• Hotel in Bangkok met jacuzzi op de 24e etage met uitzicht over de stad :)
• Nationaal park met apen in het wild
• door Bangkok of Chaing Mai crossen in een tuk tuk
• Slapen op "Floatels" (drijvende hutjes) op de River Kwai
• Jungle trekking van 3 dagen door de jungle bij Chiang Mai
• Op olifanten door de jungle rijden
• "Flight of the Gibbon" door de jungle zweven aan kabels op +/- 50 meter hoogte
• Snorkelen bij "Bounty eilanden" in de buurt van Koh Chang

My girlfriend went hiking today to test our new GPS tracker (iblue 747)

This is the result of our trip + the pictures to test the flickr / google maps combo

I'm building my own flickr set to kml file generator because the one i used now (link) has a few flaws in it. The option to replace the small pictures by a camera icon isn't working and if you make multiple pictures on the same spot only 1 will be shown on the map. In my own kml generator i'll try to fix this.

Today i tracked my route from my home to work and back.

All settings of my Iblue 747 are still the default ones.  When i opened the package yesterday i connected it to the charger and this morning before i left for work i turned it on to track my route to work. As you can see the track is pretty accurate and there aren't any weird locations on it.

Next weekend i'll test it in combination with my digital camera so you can see pictures on the routes.

I've saved the kml file to google and i've also added a picture from flickr to a kml file. I've saved both of them to a google map and this is the result:

Note that the image isn't really taken there it's just for test purposes :)

I ordered a GPS datalogger last sunday and today the mailman came by my house with the package :)

The datalogger i bought is the Iblue 747 to track my movements during my vacation so when I come back I'm able to add gps metadata to my pictures.

GPS metadata + pictures can give you really nice results in combination with google earth or Microsoft Live maps. I'll try to a testrun this weekend and will post the results afterwards on this blog.

ow btw the device isnt that big, the cd with the drivers is a 8 cm cd instead of the normal 15 cm one ;)

I'll take the datalogger with me to work tomorrow to see how accurate the device is when used inside a car.

The reason i chose for the IBlue 747 was because this device has the biggest buffer available (32MB), has a 21 hour operational time and can also be used as a gps mouse together with your pda/phone and navigation software.

2 days ago i submitted my last.fm player vista sidebar gadget to the official Last.fm site and today i received a mail that it's placed at the plugins on the last.fm website.
